The Whipping Boy by Sid Fleischman Literature Circle Activity, Vocabulary, Projects


This 16-page reading activity packet includes everything you need to conduct literature circles for The Whipping Boy by Sid Fleischman. This Newbery winning book is about an orphan named Jemmy. As the whipping boy, Jemmy must take the whippings for the royal heir to the king, Prince Brat. Jemmy plans to run away from the castle. Unfortunately Prince Brat beats him to it and takes Jemmy along on a journey- or does Jemmy take Prince Brat on a journey?
