Ruby Holler will take you on a journey of Dallas and Florida, and their experiences with being orphans. Mr. and Mrs. Trepid operate the Boxton Creek Home for Children, but will Dallas and Florida stay there? Or will their dreams take them to special place? Dallas and Florida have been shuffled between foster families and orphanages all their lives, longing only for a loving place to call home. Ruby Holler seems to change lives forever.
Included in this 27-page document are the chapters the students will need to read on a daily basis and a detailed description of each of the six jobs in literature circles (artful artist, character captain, word wizard, passage picker, discussion director, and connector). There is also an easy to use template to assign students daily jobs, end of the book project choices with scoring rubric, chapter-by-chapter discussion questions (over 125 total questions), chapter-by-chapter key vocabulary with a teacher answer key, and some vocabulary activities. Also included is an end of the novel quiz (six questions) with an answer key. Your students will love the book and the literature circles!
